How to become more confident when Networking

Networking can be such a scary but necessary task that you need to be doing in your business but for whatever reason we become the most AWKWARD person in the room when we go to a networking event.  I want to share with you different ways on how you can shift your mindset and take action steps to use to network with confidence

Networking with confidence takes courage. Be prepared when going to event and have a list of questions that you will ask others in the room to build relationships with get to know your community.

Don’t be afraid to put your self out there.  You are doing a disservice to yourself if you do not carving out time monthly to network.

Networking is showing up time after time with the right attitude and intensions to build relationships with a selfless heart.  The results will be the growth of your business but it will not happen instantly. So if you go with a stack of cards and lay them out on the table and hand them to everyone without making an authentic connection then I will tell you that your will be wasting your time and it will not help grow your business.

I would recommend getting prepared prior to the event by having cards for when one asks for one, but additionally creating a list of questions to be prepared to ask the new people you meet.  I bet if you made it your mission to meet five new people and discover their answers to the following questions then I will bet that you will gain so much more then if you arrived without it, especially if you are new to networking. People remember how you made them feel.

Networking with confidence is through knowing how to engage with the people at an event. Your attitude, body language and going prepared are the best keys to build relationships in your community.

Let’s pick out five questions that you can ask when meeting new people at a networking event.  You can at least know what you do have in common is that you both choose to attend the meeting or event that you are both at that day.  Here is a list of open ended questions you can use when meeting new people:

Remember to be aware of your body language and attitude.  Be the energy that attracts the right people.  Be open and be confident in who you are and what you do.  Networking is about meeting and and connected with others.  It is not an instant gratification of five new people in your chair or office.  It will take time to make a name for yourself in the community and be able to make a positive impact and grow your business.

Check out on google and Facebook of all the events happening around you in the next month and select a few that you believe your ideal networking group or potential client would also be at.
